Emerging from the shadows into brilliant morning sunlight, Union Pacific's Salt Lake City to Denver manifest climbs eastward on former D&RGW rails at Rio, Utah. Having received it's first coat of snow for the season, 10,685 ft. Loafer Mountain dominates the background. Note the wave from Union Pacific's friendliest conductor, a regular on the MRONY trains.
