The old Lynchburg & Durham line would appear to most passers by to be a little used branch line, but it actually sees several unit coal trains every day between the ex-Virginian at Brookneal, VA and three power plants in the southern VA/northern NC area. The local switch job, though, seems a bit more at home with an interesting mix of power and a short train heading out of sleepy South Boston.
