| Soo 4418,4419 are busy loading the Chief Wawatum at St. Ignace. The Chief had just over a year left to operate as a carferry at this time. Business had dried up and the Chief was more or less back to its once a week schedule. The Chief made its last trip under its own power in 1984. It was stored at St. Ignace and then Mackinaw City for a few years and then was sold and cut down into a barge where it served its new owner until recently when it was reportedly scrapped. |
