Soo #911 has been battling blizzard conditions since leaving Sault Ste. Marie over 6 hours ago. Originally powered by only 768 and 409 with 131 cars the train more or less ran at 10MPH all the way from Soo yard to Trout Lake. After getting 776 from train #912 and 214A from the Marquette local at Trout Lake they are starting to head west through about 2 feet of fresh snow. Having to be dug out of 768 by the section crew after arrival at Trout Lake there is no complaint from the engine crew about having the tired F on the point for the remainder of this trip to Gladstone. Plus nobody wanted to dig out the three switches required to wye the power in these conditions. Highway travel was not possible so I shot this photo with the use of my snowmobile. There appears to be plenty of room for campers in the Trout Lake campground which the train is slowly passing.
