Sometimes we ask ourselves why we do it, standing in a freezing field before dawn. this is one of the reasons. The sound of the double header could be heard several miles away as ever rising roar, until they appeared onto one of the most spectacular viaducts in the UK with its larger central arch at Culloden silhouetted against the pink dawn. Culloden being the site of the last pitched battle fought on British soil in 1745 being the final confrontation of the Jacobite Rising. A moving moment in every way as A4 60009 Union of South Africa and K4 No 61994 Great Marquess headed the south bound Great Britain railtour.
