Remarks & Notes

B&O westbound Cumberland-Buffalo manifest, the Empire State, slowly climbs around the curve at Mance, Pa on October 22, 1978 with three GP9s. I always liked the way B&O named its hottest freight trains, and the Empire State was no exception. The name fit perfectly.
