CPR GP9 8700 is loading the barge with carloads of lumber on Slocan Lake, after which the Iris G will take the barge and its load to Slocan City at the south end of the lake for connection to the CPR and points east. The 8700 had higher than standard footboards so it could negotiate the raised track on to the barge.
