| Daylight freight movements are rare occurrences in the midsection of the Alaska Railroads owing to a nocturnal scheduling of freight movements through the area. It was my luck to catch this southbound Fairbanks/Anchorage train delayed 14 hours by a dispatcher who missed their midnight shift, effectively shutting down the railroad and allowing me the opportunity to catch this night owl in broad daylight. Snowshoeing was required to gain access to this photo location as there are no public roads by which access this area regardless of season.
