| Well over eight hours late, the Southwest Chief races through Commerce right in the middle of about a six minute long sucker hole in the heavy cloud cover. The Grinstein green MAC was picked when the lead P42 (#142)'s bearings overheated. With no protect unit in Albuquerque, and signal problems due to copper thieves, the SD70MAC was kept on while the delays became longer and longer.
