| SP AC12 4294, the last of the Mohicans. Although one of Espee's most iconic steam locomotives, only one of the 4-8-8-2 cab forwards survived the end of the steam era on the Southern Pacific. Now the 4294 sits inside the California state railroad museum (opened in 1981), as the crown jewel of the CSRM's collection. |
