Good Bye MRS, You will be missed! Today, September 30th, is the last day for the Manufacturers Railway. For almost 120 years this railroad has been shoving cars up to the Anhueser Busch Brewery and switching the local industries on 2nd Street. But with trucks handling the outbound shipments to the brewery, the MRS's only real job in the last few months was to switch inbound shipments. Today, it is no longer. The St. Louis area lost a gem today, and it will be sad not to have the perfectly maintained fleet of green switchers pushing cars up the steep incline to the brewery. Rumor is that another local operator will take over this job, but it won't be the same. Farewell MRS!
