| D&S helper # 482 takes the siding at the Silverton depot to run around the 2nd daily passenger train lead by # 480 to turn on the wye track just south of town. The passenger count on the 2nd daily train from Durango was such that a helper was needed to double head the train upgrade from Hermosa to Silverton. Since it's all downhill from Silverton back to Durango the helper won't be needed on the return trip and will run "light" back to town. |
