Portland is a vibrant city with a downtown that has thoroughly embraced pedestrian accessibility and transit options provided by TriMet. On this hazy summer day in Pioneer Square, a Red/Yellow/Blue Line train (running a combined route during the closure of Steel Bridge for Green Line construction) passes couples out for a stroll and groups of people from all walks of life who have gathered for a few games of chess.
