| An Alaska Railroad yard job switches out cars at the company warehouse which is located just outside the main ARR yard in Anchorage amidst some very interesting trackwork. The building in the center houses the ARR's stores department and they still regularly ship and receive company goods by rail. Track components come up by barge from the lower 48 while various other company material is shuttled around the system on flats, gons, or in boxcars. To the right is the abandoned warehouse, which is one of the oldest structures in the Anchorage yard complex. |
