| After the WC bought the GBW/FRV the pair of SD24's from FRV found a home in Upper Michigan. Normally they prowled the ex DSS&A lines where they seemed well suited to muscling trains of pulpwood/forest products around at low speeds on light rail. They also worked the Soo Yard-Gladstone trains that were quite a bit heavier and moved far faster. This late evening shot of train #34 with 59 cars lead by 2402,6554,590 roaring through Garnet really was typical of WC's early years in Upper Michigan. |
