| Back on home rails! Originally built in 1965 as a SD28 and used at Reserve Mining, this unit was rebuilt by NRE in Dixmoor, Il in 2011 and is now clasified as a SD28-3. With only 2000 h.p. this unit will be used exclusively in yard service for Northshore Mining to either load ore trains or unload them. After CSX delivered the unit to CN, CN delivered it to Northshore Mining and here it sits waitng for a NSM crew to take it to Babbitt for fuel and final inspection after that it will be turned loose earning it's keep. |
