| About 7 years after the UP-MP-WP merger, here we still find a pure set of blue Missouri Pacific power. This Council Bluffs-Kansas City manifest has just about topped the steep climb out of downtown Omaha before continuing south on the Falls City sub to Kansas City. This also repeats the scene when MP freights used this section of UP mainline to get to their Grace Street yard in Omaha from 1974 to 1983. The 6071 was the last 6000 series (with dynamic brakes) SD40-2C left in blue at this point in time, but the trailing 2 GP38-2s were still part of a group of about 100 GP38-2s left in blue. |
