| The Chugach Mountains dwarf a northbound freight fresh off the barge in Seward. During the winter the ships that normally call on the Port of Anchorage must unload in Seward as Anchorage is not an ice free port. That move generates extra revenue for the Alaska Railroad which is always helpful for the often financially strapped railroad. |
