The Connecticut Valley Railroad Museum (CVRM) Railfan Day on Saturday, 1st November 1986 included a night photo session, featuring New York Central E-9A # 4096, heading up a night train to nowhere. Former New Haven Railroad RS-3 # 529, waits patiently alongside for the passenger train to clear. At the time, both locomotives were owned by CVRM. The 4096 is ex- UP, ex- Amtrak and carries what would have been the next number for a NYC E-9.
