| The Savage Bingham & Garifield Railway operates along former D&RGW trackage in the southwestern quadrant of the Salt Lake Valley. Since they share trackage with UTA's Mid-Jordan light rail line, freight operations take place nocturnally when the UTA is shut down. Savage Bingham's next outbound train is photographed laying over during the day at Midvale yard. The train features covered hoppers of corn for Frito Lay in West Valley City and two loads of steel beams for SME Steel in West Jordan. The 8619 is a former SP unit, and I've always been intrigued by the interesting mounting platform for the horn! |
