| The Pioneer Railroad Beginning in 1972 the Chicago and Northwestern began using an innovative ownership structure which allowed employees to purchase stock in the company and thus the “Employee Owned” logo began to appear on C&NW equipment. This Employee Owned slogan lasted unit 1982 when the railroad name was reverted to the Chicago & North Western System wording atop the ball and bar trademark that first appeared in 1891. |
