Something for the Rio Grande aficionados. An eastbound lumber drag off the SP gets a shove via two GP40-2s while a westbound general freight descends the grade toward the west switch at Gilluly. Moments earlier, the Rio Grande Zephyr passed between them in the Gilluly center siding, overtaking the slow lumber drag.
Coal and steel don't go bad. This album features long, slow, heavy freight trains; drag freights, slop freights, dead freights, etc. Trains with lots of power, and lots of different cargo slogging along behind.
