| A single GE U23B leads a Western Pacific local at the north end of Rio Grande's Roper Yard in South Salt Lake. The train consist includes a pair of D&RGW ballast loads and a long cut of mill gondolas retrieved at Garfield. The WP 2259 was acquired new from GE in June 1972 and was retired and scrapped after a big wreck at Deeth, Nevada on Sept. 12, 1981. |
