F59PHI 456 is leading train #774 (San Luis Obispo to San Diego) as a late train #583 (San Diego to Los Angeles), led by NPCU 90208 (ex-F40PH 208) with F59PHI 457 shoving on the rear. The southbound train has just crested Miramar Hill, while the northbound train is just beginning its ascent. Miramar isn't the highest point on the Surf Line, but it is the steepest natural grade between Los Angeles and San Diego.
