| With the arrival of hundreds of new SD60Ms in the late 1980s to early 1990s, it seemed the big EMDs were everywhere on the UP. Here a trio of the ubiquitous EMDs lead the APLA (American President Line - Los Angeles) stack train west out of Salt Lake City. The well ballasted track at left is shortline operator Salt Lake Garifleld & Western's route to the International Center Business Park and the Morton Salt Plant. |
