Remarks & Notes

On Chicago and North Western’s ore line, the 4:00 a.m. extra ore load headed southbound meets the northbound 10:00 a.m. extra ore empty at Little Lake, Michigan, on October 25, 1986. Six big Alco C-628s from two trains fill the northwoods autumn air with the unique sounds of Schenectady.
