| Vintage Trains Ltd. ran "The Cotswold Explorer" excursion on the 20th October 2012.This was a railtour from Tyseley (Birmingham) to Gloucester and Oxford,and back to Tyseley.The motive power supplied was ex-Great Western Railway "Castle" class loco 5043 "Earl Of Mount Edgcumbe".The 1936 veteran is seen here approaching Stonehouse station at the start of the climb up Sapperton Bank.As can be seen,the loco was giving it everything,a thrilling site to the crowd who had gathered to see the old girl perform. |
