| MUNI car 1070 heads west along the Embarcadero at Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco. This PCC streetcar, built by the St. Louis Car Co. in 1947, is painted to commemorate operations in Minneapolis-St Paul, Minnesota. The PCC era in the Twin Cities ended up being one of the shortest. A battle for control of Twin City Rapid Transit ended with all streetcar lines being converted to buses by June 1954. |
