KCS northbound intermodal crosses the Colorado River at Wharton, Texas, on November 8, 2012. This is KCS' Rosenberg Subdivision connecting Rosenberg and Victoria, Texas, part of a route linking Mexico with the rest of the KCS system. The Rosenberg Sub was formerly a Southern Pacific branch that was abandoned years ago. The KCS rebuilt the line from scratch, but used these three thru truss spans which had never been removed.
