| About as wide open as it gets in these parts, NS 8918 negotiates the tight curve at OO. Heres's where the Buchanan Branch (elevated line in the background) diverges from the Pocahontas Main Line. Originally a timber line (Ritter Lumber), the Big Sandy & Cumberland was acquired by the N&W to access the rich coal deposits that lie within the Buchanan Field. |
