Overnight Green Mountain snow brought accumulations ranging from around 12-14" at Roxbury to a dusting just 30 miles distant east and west of the mountains. Amtrak's Vermonter is not hampered by 8-12" of new snow just east of Roxbury as the train makes track speed on a super-elevated curve, bound for the next stop in Randolph, VT with Amtrak 101 leading the consist.
The successor to the Montrealer, the Vermonter runs between St. Albans, Vt., and Washington, DC. Much of the northern part of the route runs along the Connecticut and White Rivers.
