Photographed on the Summer Solstice of 1986, Amtrak's California Zephyr train #6 leans into a super elevated curve on Rio Grande's westward main track at Mapleton, Utah. The grade separated and less steep eastward main track is approaching from the left. Not surprisingly, the south slopes of 11,749 ft. Mt. Timpanogos exhibit little snow on the first day of Summer.
