Union Pacific's PVSC local awaits its turn to enter Rio Grande's eastward main track while both east and westbound trains breeze by at Lakota Junction. In the fall of 1985, the old diamond interlocking was removed from Lakota with switches added, and a few of the old ties are still in place (at left).
