| In 1987, the D&RGW planted this billboard in the Salt Lake Valley along their Denver-Salt Lake City mainline. The hand painted ad was created on 17 sheets of plywood and mounted to the metal framework. The message was directed to area shippers traveling along parallel Interstate 15. If you look closely at the details, a few inconsistencies exist with regard to the flying Rio Grande logo and the piggyback trailers. At least they managed to chose a correct number for a tunnel motor! |
