This is the sight two days after the derailment of at least 6 loaded coal cars bound for Bow, NH. There are two cars off the rails (rails all ripped apart and up) and two more on the bridge with the one in sight leaning against the upright and two more north of the bridge. Snow was around for two days and luckily warm weather was around for 2 days to help cleanup. The crews are using MEC 613 to pull the car towards the track while the sidewinder dozers keep the front trucks on the ground. It took several attempts as the engine couldn't budge the car at first but then did get it to the rails and rerail two cars this way before tackling the much harder cars on the bridge. The trucks were chained to the underside of the loaded cars to not allow them to fall out and there was at least one NS person on site to keep an watchful eye on things. It's amazing how much those winches can pick up as these were fully loaded cars at around 110-115 tons gross each car.
