Storm over Homestake
A loaded Montana Rail Link ballast train drops downgrade from the loader at Spire Rock on the Homestake Pass route on September 14, 2010. Two matching SD45s are about to duck under the old U.S. Highway 10 overpass west of Whitehall, Montana, staying just ahead of a nasty storm that is producing a lot of wind and lightning. MRL operates the old NP Homestake line only to Spire Rock as part of the 5th Subdivision. |
