As I read in other photographs, it really seems that this is another planet, maybe Mars. And do not say because this place is in my country, or because I've been in that place. In the photo, the train goes around the great salt flats of Carcote ( See in RP photography ID #390236 ), a rich deposit of various salts (chlorides, chlorates, nitrates, nitrides, boron, borax, lithium, etc.). Then comes a line through the middle of the salt, and then get to Ollagüe.
