A Union Pacific tunnel clearance test train heads east through Garfield on the former Western Pacific Salt Lake City to Oakland mainline. In the background is Kennecott Copper Corporation's smelter featuring a 1,215 ft. smokestack. Completed in 1974, the stack has a diameter of 120 feet, it is the tallest free-standing structure west of the Mississippi River, the fourth tallest smokestack in the world and the thirty-third tallest free-standing structure on Earth.
