| As the morning sun reunites itself with Tehachapi's golden hills the sound of dynamic brakes pierce the cool morning air in the Caliente Valley. BNSF 5309 has just finished the most daunting portion of its westbound run over the mountain and is now heading for the Caliente creek narrows. In the upper right UP's ZLCBR carefully drifts down grade up at Cliff as a BNSF eastbound stack train holds the siding at Bealville in the upper right. The trees that line Caliente creek provide the only break of green life in an other wise dry mountain scene. |
