The southbound Denali Star slinks through Elmendorf AFB just moments from its final stop in Anchorage. Surprisingly for this time of year, the trees are still mostly barren despite this past winter being relatively mld precipitation-wise. However, April was one of the coldest Aprils on record which played in to the late spring here.
