| With a storm brewing in the distance on a warm late Summer evening, CSX W033 roars westward through Voorheesville with a pair of EMD SD40-2s in the lead. The track leading off into the tall grass to the right was once a connection from the former New York Central Railroad (Currently CSXT) Selkirk Subdivision to the old mainline of the Delaware & Hudson Railroad, which crossed the NYC at grade just behind where we are standing. The former D&H line through Voorheesville is mostly gone, and the remains of the old connection is now used only occasionally for storage of CSX MOW equipment. |
