Built in September 2004, Norfolk Southern Dash 9-40CW 9906 was among a batch of diesels that GE delivered in primer paint in order to speed up delivery. A year and a half later, NS 9906 (NS calls them D9-40CW) was looking rather shabby as it worked a BNSF Railway baretable train (with BNSF Dash 9-44CW 4102) at Basta (Fullerton), California, on April 27th, 2006.
