Remarks & Notes

The Western Pacific Railroad acquired three SW1500s from EMD in May 1973. The 1503 served well into the UP merger, becoming the UP 1503, the UP 1317, and finally the UPY 1042 prior to retirement and donation to the Western Pacific Railroad Museum in Portola, California.
