What a show! Two former Deutsche Bundesbahn "racehorses" are starting their 8 car train from Neuenmarkt-Wirsberg up the "Schiefe Ebene" (line built in 1848!) with a grade of 2.5 % to Marktschorgast. 01 202 of association "Pacific 01 202" in Lyss/Switzerland, left the repair works of Meiningen the day before after a nearly two years overhaul. 01 150 of DB Museum/Eisenbahnstiftung J.Schmidt is operational again since may 5th 2013. Both locomotives were based in Hof in the 1960' and 1970' and run regularly on this line (01 150 from 1965 to 1970 and in 1973, 01 202 from 1959 till 1973, when steam traction ended in Hof). Landscape photography is difficult due to the challenge of combining good light and good scenery. Good railroad photography enters another level of complexity since it requires the first two while there is a train in view.
