| Northern Explorer has over 400 miles ahead and will take over 11 hours to reach Wellington, capital city of New Zealand. The DF locomtives intoduced from 1979 were all rebuilt in early 1990s and are usually used on freight trains. There is still at least one leased to MAXX/ Auckland Transport and occasionally head the Northern Explorer instead of a DC.
