Denver and Rio Grande Western’s Malta Turn is dropping through Pando, Colorado, on the way down the 3-percent grades of Tennessee Pass on July 9, 1985. The six-car train is led by a pair of EMD GP40-2s, Nos. 3096 and 3112, a former Conrail GP40, and includes a caboose.
