Remarks & Notes

The beginning and the end of an era on the Rio Grande: New EMD GP60 No. 3154 leads the CHOAT through Provo Yard on Aug. 18, 1990. D&RGW 3154-3156 are essentially Southern Pacific locomotives, built in May 1990 as wreck replacements for D&RGW locomotives. The trio would soon be swapped, serving on SP's Sunset Route while three newly rebuilt Cotton Belt SD45T-2Rs were assigned to work on the Rio Grande.
