Remarks & Notes
What is it? Numberless 50-ton Atlas diesel, one of two built in the early 1940's for the U.S. Navy with side rods and radial couplers, was working for Georgetown Railroad at Georgetown, Texas on April 14, 1971. Probably the large stone protects the switch stand from quarry trucks and likely the engineer uses it as a marker where to spot his engine.
