| A F3-A class 4-6-2 of the Fort Worth and Denver Railway sits in golden evening light under its shelter in Childress, just feet from the former "Denver Road" mainline. Childress owes its growth to the railroad like many other towns in this country, due to the fact that it was a division point on the FW&D, at one time housing a major shop facility and roundhouse. |
