Southern Pacific's Broadway Local power, consisting of SW1500 2684 and GP9E 3350, return to the main line and their train in Mountain View, California, after delivering cars to Moffett Field Naval Air Station on Dec.4, 1988. The mile-long Moffett Field Spur also served several industries before they were replaced by high-tech offices. In 1994 the Navy left the air field and the spur fell into disuse until 1997, when the SP tracks were pulled up and the right-of-way became part of the VTA light rail extension.
